What we track
No accounts, no location. The camera stays on your phone. We only get the barcode number.
On your device
- Camera
- Just to read the barcode. Nothing gets uploaded.
- Scan history
- Saved in your browser so you can reopen recent scans. Clear it on the History page and it's gone from this device.
On the server
- Barcode number
- So we can look the product up. We cache results so scanning the same thing again is faster.
- IP address
- Saved with the barcode and time so we can slow down people hammering lookups. Not used for ads or profiles.
- Corrections
- If you submit one, we keep the barcode, the issue type, and what you wrote. Captcha is there to stop bots.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, names, or emails.
- No GPS.
- No camera photos or video.
- No ad trackers.
- We don't sell lookup data.
